Abstract:
During the processing of aluminum matrix composites, the aluminum matrix is easy to soften and smear to produce built-up edge tumors, and there are processing problems such as severe blockage of the grinding wheel, serious tool wear, low processing surface quality and low processing precision. Based on the existing plastic materials and ELID grinding fluids, the special ELID grinding fluid suitable for the grinding characteristics of aluminum matrix composites can be developed according to the mechanical processing properties of aluminum matrix composites. The metal in the grinding wheel and the aluminum-based grinding debris adhering to the surface of the grinding wheel are electrolytically removed to achieve the function of sharpening the grinding wheel, and a corrosion-resistant oxide film is formed on the surface of the processed aluminum-based material to reduce scratching and reduce residual processing stress. Improve the processing quality and processing precision, and achieve precision grinding of aluminum-based composite materials. The experimental results show that: the grinding solution is used to grind aluminum-based silicon carbide composites with a volume fraction of 60%, and the surface roughness
Ra can reach 0.098 μm, which is 0.016 μm lower than that of ordinary grinding fluid.
