Abstract:
The principle and structure design of a new type of bearingless induction motor based on single winding were investigated. The conventional double windings structure of stator that includes motor windings and levitation windings was abnegated. This motor with only one winding system produces torque and levitation forces. Bearingless induction motor is a nonlinear, multi-variable and strong coupling system, it is necessary to control the radial suspension force when it is running. So the accurate suspension force windings of radial suspension force are the key of bearingless motor design. This paper has analyzed the suspension force and flux distribution in detail. The bearingless induction motor based on single winding can be proved to be valid by using finite element analysis.
