Abstract:
As an ideal material for the manufacture of a new generation of diesel engines, has the advantages of high strength, high elongation and high thermal stability, but its own difficulty in processing has always hindered the wide application of vermicular graphite cast iron. In order to solve the problem of excessive blade wear in the process of milling of vermicular graphite cast iron, we independently developed new special tools, changed the coating and geometry of the tool, and carried out comparative tests with existing tools. The results show that when using ultra-fine particle carbide substrate, TiAIN physical coating, and large rake angle groove type inserts for milling processing, the tool life is 3 times that of the originaI tool under the premise of ensuring the quality of the processing, which effectively improves the processing efficiency and greatly reduce the processing cost.which provides strong support for the further promotion of the wide application of vermicular graphite cast iron.
