Abstract:
In order to further improve the dynamic and static characteristics of the three-lobe hydrodynamic journal bearings, the surface texture technology is used to improve the bearing load capacity, tribological performance and dynamic stability. Under the condition of hydrodynamic lubrication, the mathematical model of three-lobe journal bearing with spherical cap micro texture is established, solved by finite difference method (FDM), and the dynamic and static characteristics of bearing are simulated by MATLAB software. It is found that under the certain operating conditions, the spherical cap texture with larger area ratio in the position I, and there is an optimal texture depth, which improve the static characteristics of the three-lobe journal bearing most. Meanwhile, the oil film stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient are also large, optimizing the dynamic stability of the bearing.
