Abstract:
The stamping and forming process will cause uneven thickness distribution of sheet metal. A Macpherson suspension control arm of a certain car model was taken as the research object. The fatigue strength analysis was carried out by using traditional finite element analysis method, and the results were compared with the fatigue strength results of the control arm considering the stamping effect and optimizing the stamping forming method. Studies have shown that the stamping process has caused the thinning of the outer end and front end edge of the control arm, resulting in a decline in its structural performance. In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of the simulation, it is necessary to incorporate the thickness change of the control arm caused by stamping into the entire analysis process.
