A five axis RTCP error detection and compensation method based on self-developed device

  • 摘要: 五轴机床的旋转刀具中心点(rotational tool center point, RTCP)误差会极大地影响机床加工零件的精度,研究五轴机床的RTCP误差检测及补偿方法,对提升五轴机床的精度具有很重要的意义。为了解决现有的RTCP误差检测及补偿方法在精确性、经济性、测量效率方面的有效平衡问题,提出一种基于自研装置的RTCP检测方法,能快速、简单、高效地补偿五轴联动机床回转中心的位置误差和角度误差。试验结果表明,该方法显著提升机床各方向上的RTCP精度,最高接近90%,具有较强的适用性。

     

    Abstract: The rotational tool center point (RTCP) error of five axis machine tools can greatly affect the accuracy of machining parts. Studying the RTCP error detection and compensation methods of five axis machine tools is of great significance for improving the accuracy of five axis machine tools. In order to effectively balance the accuracy, economy, and measurement efficiency of existing RTCP error detection and compensation methods, an RTCP detection method based on a self-developed device is proposed, which could quickly, simply, and efficiently compensate for the position and angle errors of the five axis linkage machine tool’s rotation center. The experimental results showed that this method significantly improved the RTCP accuracy of each direction of the machine tool, with a maximum of nearly 90%, and had strong applicability.
