Abstract: The National standard Laser directed energy deposition machines—General technical specification was approved and released in September 7th 2023 by the State General Administration of Quality Inspection and the State Standards Committee, and it was in effect from April 1st 2024. The article describes the background, significance and main content about the product Laser directed energy deposition machines—General technical specification. At the same time, the main applications of laser directed energy deposition and the expected role and prospect of the standard are introduced.
