Exploration of the solving section pixel of end mill

  • Based on the meshing motion of the wheel grinding tool and the processing method of binary image, this paper explores a convenient, fast and accurate method for obtaining the section of the end mill's groove. This method avoids the process of obtaining contact line by solving the non-linear equation by analytic method, and generates the spatial envelope of grinding tool directly through meshing locus, then intercepts the image of curve cluster enveloped on the mill end section, converts it into binary image, and extracts the cutter end section of the overall milling cutter through the pixels of the scanning image. It is theoretically fast to obtain the end mill's groove. A new method of sectioning, observing groove profile and analyzing its related parameters is especially suitable for analyzing the milling groove formed by forming grinding wheel.
