Effect of tungsten property on electrical discharge machining

  • In order to study the EDM characteristics of tungsten material, density measurement and metallographic observation were carried out by selecting pure tungsten of different quality, and further experimental research of EDM and WEDM process were made. The result showed that, the high the density, the less the interspace between the grains, the more difficult it is to remove the material, the higher the relative loss of the tool electrode, and the better surface quality obtained by WEDM.
