Layout optimization of robot machining center based on overlap rate

  • The quality and efficiency of cutting car dashboards can be improved by using robot machining center. This paper simplified the workspace, and solved the effective workspace according to the pose of robots and the working characteristics of the robot machining center. The overlap rate of workspace in the target area was taken as the evaluation index to optimize the layout of the robot machining center. The result showed that the overlap rate was increased from 33.5% to 76.3%, and the efficiency was increased by 20.7%, which fully proved the effectiveness of the method.
