Development status and problems of China's machine tool industry under new situation

The equipment manufacturing industry is the national pillar and one of the important part of the real economy. Machine tool as the "industrial mother machine" is the basis of equipment manufacturing. Nowadays, with the international environment becoming more complicated, China's industry development is facing great challenge, and machine tool industry is in the downward channel. This paper summarized the current situation of the development of machine tool industry under the new situation, and analyzed the problems existing in the development of the current machine tool industry. Five suggestions on machine tool industry development were put forward, such as building innovative research platform, strengthening performance evaluation, encouraging domestic application, strengthening basic common technology research and strengthening intellectual property protection.
