Current situation and trend of development of spherical gear manufacturing technology

Spherical gear is a new type of gear transmission mechanism, which has two degrees of freedom and can achieve precise fixed transmission ratio. And widely used in the fields of bionic mechanical joints and robot joints. In this article, the development of spherical gears is reviewed firstly, and then the manufacturing technology and equipment development trend of involute ring gear with application prospect are summarized. The key technologies that need to be solved in the future are summarized.
