Abstract
SiC/Al composite is a kind of composite material with aluminum as matrix and silicon carbide as reinforced particles. Because ofthe high hardness of the material, the machined surface appears crack and wear. In this paper, the micro-grinding test of SiC/Al2024 with PCD tool is carried out. Based on the response surfacemethod, the experimental data are designed, the regression equations of spindle speed, feed speed and cutting depth are established. According to the response surface diagram, the influence of the interaction of spindle speed, feed speed and cutting depth on the Surface roughness is analyzed, and the order from large to small is: spindle speed, cutting depth, feed speed. The interaction between spindle speed and feed speed is significant, and the minimum roughness is 0.51μm.
