Design of robot laser cutting system for small hole

  • In the process of auto body panel machining, the robot laser cutting motion control is difficult, the production efficiency is low, owing to the large curvature of workpiece contour and complex surface shape. The robot laser cutting of small hole can not meet the accuracy requirements. In order to improve the accuracy and speed of small hole machining for large curvature and complex surface workpiece, a new robot small hole laser cutting system is designed and developed. The micro CNC cutting system is composed of high precision motion controller and cross slide table. The macro system is composed of robot system. It can cut small circle with minimum diameter of 0.5 mm, and the running speed can reach 18 m/min. The application results show that the machining accuracy of the robot small hole laser cutting system reaches 0.03 mm, and the running speed and production efficiency are high. Compared with five axis CNC machine tools, robot laser cutting system has low cost, high flexibility and small space occupation, which has broad application prospects in the automotive industry.
