Development prospects of ultrasonic-green hybrid machining technology and equipment

  • The synergistic application of ultrasonic machining and green machining technology can fully leverage their advantages in high quality, high efficiency, and environmental protection. Workpiece quality and tool life are further improved, and environmental pollution caused by cutting fluids is reduced, which facilitates the upgrading and transformation of the manufacturing industry towards high quality, high efficiency, and low pollution. Remarkable results have been achieved in the machining of parts made of titanium alloys, superalloys, hard and brittle materials, composite materials, and others. However, in terms of the investigation on the hybrid mechanism of ultrasonic-green machining, the establishment of the cutting theory system, and the integrated research and development of equipment, there is still a lack of systematic and in-depth research reports. Focusing on this interdisciplinary technical field, the theoretical basis, equipment characteristics, and actual engineering application cases of ultrasonic machining and green machining in both single and composite application scenarios are systematically elaborated in this paper. By comprehensively reviewing the development context, research status, and core issues of ultrasonic-green hybrid machining technology, theoretical guidance and engineering support are provided for the subsequent optimization and iteration of this technology as well as the upgrading of supporting equipment.
